Public Property
This piece is a statement about how a woman’s body is consistently subjected to the scrutiny of others and reminded of it daily. The public has an opinion of what kind of image we’re supposed to maintain or be comfortable with, and the public will always feel the right to remind us of our “flaws”. Whether we have a “perfect” body or not, we will be criticized.

Origins
Origins is an abstract, meant to explore shape within shape. This is the first piece to a future series of abstracts centered around a sphere. It is meant to represent nothing, but has been interpreted as a pea pod, or the opening to a womb. Pea pod or womb, both are beginnings to new life, to origins.

Eve
Eve is a project exploring the intersection of the different materials that I enjoy working with. This is a blending of bronze, cast iron, aluminum, and marble.

Unbecoming
Unbecoming is an attempt to visualize my feelings surrounding aging as a woman. This piece makes tangible the fears of disappearing and becoming less relevant to society. The outreaching hand is a display of not wanting to be left behind as the rest of the body begins to disarticulate and fade. The strings are emblematic of an attempt to stay connected to the here and now.

Puff the Magic Dragon
A little playful piece that started off as expanding foam pieces glued together and cast in bronze. I gave it a patina to add depth. Simple piece, but definitely one of my favorites.
